After the storm

This is a picture taken in December when Brother Pierre and Brother Jacque visited us.

This is how the lake used to look. Lake Shengeza where we live among the Zulu people. It always had a beautiful beach with white sand.

But after this storm of Tropical Cyclone Irina the whole beach is gone.

Even the road we used to travel on is under water.

This was all from the storm Saturday night going into Sunday from the arm of the cyclone going over us. But in the morning when the center was supposed to hit the coast it was quiet. We canceled all our services for Sunday and Monday because of it but we've had the greatest peace and quiet with literally almost no wind nor any heavy rain since Sunday morning. All the rain was only on Saturday evening and right through the night. Originally it was predicted that we would get about 400 mm of rain but we don't know how much we did get. How quiet things were all day Sunday and still is Monday morning we should've never canceled those 5 services that were scheduled.

But anyway, it gives us time to reorganize the tents and put everything back from under the plastic where it was stacked to be ready for the hurricane.

This is one part of the tent which we had to prop up with three pole just to stop the water from daming up on the roof because of the heavy rains.
The water gets so much and so heavy that it will rip the tent if not pushed off. We tied ropes to the poles to keep it in place as the wind shakes the tent around.

It was funny listening to the children playing with their cars in the sand. They were playing 'getting ready for the hurricane'. We had to laugh as we listened to them talking and playing.

  1. Thank the Lord! I can't wait to tell my adolescent Sunday School class that God answered our prayers. They prayed with me on Saturday at their fasting and prayer day. God still answers prayers. To God be the glory.
