Traveling from one temporary base to another one. On this occasion we had seven flat tires in one trip!
Traveling through Botswana you usually see many elephant along the road. This is a young elephant.
Potholes in a blacktop road. On this stretch of approximately 50 miles you cannot get out of second gear. It is extremely hard on even a 4x4. It puts a lot of stress on your vehicle.
Some Giraffe close to Pandamatenga in Botswana.
Crossing the Zambezi river in Zambia at Shesheke. It costs about 80 Rand to cross the Ferry. If they are out of fuel or the ferry is broken you can be stuck for days. But there is always the smaller motor boats and dugout canoes to cross without a vehicle. Usually they are functional you just have to wait until the boat is full of passengers before they will go across. It costs about 5 Rand per person to cross on a small boat. This is about a dollar.
Traveling through the bush sometimes trees fall over or are pushed by elephants, then a quick new route must be made. This can cause quite a problem in the new loose sand you can get stuck real easy and is no joke to get out of especially if the vehicle lays on its belly. It can take hours of digging.
