After a couple of months back in the United States, we started praying for a property where we could start something of our own where we did not have to pay rent all the time. We asked for a stream to be by the property and that it would be fairly secluded. Our idea with this property was that it would be a support for us when we would go back to the missionfield. The Lord granted our prayer and we were so thankful. God helped us to keep it debt free as far as bank debt goes in various ways.
Thank you so much for some friends, brothers and sisters, who to some or other extent had a part in all of it. We mention a few but it is not an extensive list. God bless everyone that had a part in helping us get on our feet.
A friend Faye Fahnestock opened her home to us for the first six months of our stay in America. This really helped us out so much. Thank you so very much Aunt Faye!
Perry Missionary Alliance Church helped us out in different ways for which we are so thankful in that first year. Thank you Pastor Pat Port and all the elders and Rhonda Schneider at Perry. We were also so encouraged by Pastor Port's sermons in those months. It was exactly what we needed and things that the Lord started speaking to us about in the last year on the missionfield before we came over. Your sermons added a wonderful dimension to our lives. Something we will not lose for time to come and right into eternity.
Thank you Uncle Ken and Aunt Fay Horning for all your help with work, driving, and so much else.
Thank you Aunt Ruth Cooley for helping us with the water connection fee on our property and that we could pay it off to you over a period of time.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Etsweiler for opening your rental home to us for three months when we were in between jobs and we could not find a place to rent for just three months. We still think back in thankfulness for that time. Mr. Etsweiler was the one who did our deed transfer of the property and when he found out that we were in between jobs and could not find a place to stay he immediately offered us a home that he had just purchased for rental purposes and offered it to us for those few months for free. What a blessing that was! We did not expect anything like that! May the Lord bless you for your caring heart when you saw us in need.
A hearty thanks to Stevie Fisher an Amish friend who opened his little trailer for us for the summer of 2005. We were so blessed.
And Ben and Elsie Kauffman for organizing all the ladies that helped when Rosie was laid up for one of the pregnancies. Ben is the head bishop of Lykens Valley for the Amish church. A hearty thank you for all your help! We sure had wonderful times together!
To David and Sue Lalone for all your support and help in your obedience to the Lord - we are truly grateful for friends like you. A simple Thank You doesn't seem to be enough. The Lord strengthen you.
And to Mary Hostetler our midwife for delivering our four youngest, Elisha, Keziah, Kihanna, and Lemuel. You were so wonderful to us! And we were so blessed by your strong support. May the Lord really prosper your ministry for Him that many may see the Lord through your big heart. We really love you and we hope that we will be able to get you on the missionfield for some courses in midwifery. We really hope that the Lord will work this out.
And to Gideon & Linda Esh a dear Amish brother in Christ, for all the times you guys babysitted our children, they had so much fun, and for all the times we could do something for the Lord together, for your support and care and that you got the job for us that supported us for so long till three days before we return to Africa. Thank you for your friendship and your care. God Bless you, Friend. If we don't see you again on this earth, may it be at the Lord's feet. Stay faithful as a minister of God's Word. Your determination to be a light where you are and helping others towards the cross of Christ alone is an encouragement for me.
Thank you Uncle Ken & Aunt Faith Young for all your encouragement to us from before our marriage until now. Love you much and dearly.
Through different job opportunities, within two years we were able by God's grace to purchase this property after much prayer. The Lord was so good in helping us to keep it debt free so that we could go to the missionfield whenever the time comes. And that it could be used whether we rent it out or sell it that the funds that we get from it could support us on the missionfield for a couple of years till we get established. We are selling it on a rent to own basis and by God's grace it will supply us with our basic needs on the missionfield for five years. In this time we pray and hope to get established. God is good.
Well now the time has come for us to go. Please pray with us that the Lord will work out all our steps in His own way and time and for His own purpose.
The Lord so graciously provided for us while we were in the states and as a sister, Sue Lalone, encouraged us the other day that God is faithful to see us through. Thank you Sue, we so often need to be reminded of what the Lord did in the desert. This is a great need for us because it is what will provide our basic needs back on the missionfield. Please stand with us in prayer. If you are praying please let us know. It is always a great encouragement to know that people are praying.
We love each one of you so very much and cherish the memories of our times together. We wish we could have seen you more often and been more help to you. We're going to miss seeing you terribly, but we are so thrilled to see you following the Lord and ready to serve Him wherever He wants you. Our love and prayers won't stop just because you are far away. * hugs and prayers to all *
